Perspective Skecth

The idea of this sketch was to find an interesting room and sketch it as a prospective. I chose my living room, because unlike a normal living room it is circular. Choosing my living room made this sketch difficult, because I am not good at perspective drawings and the sketch really challenged my abilities. I do not like the way this sketch turned out, but it helped me practice with perspective sketches.

Chair Negative Space Sketch

The idea of this sketch was to find a chair and draw it in negative space. This was a challenge, because I did not know how to draw in negative space. Doing this sketch taught me how to draw in negative space and the sketch itself turned out really good.

Erased Negative Sketch

This is another sketch that we had to draw in negative space. I did so well with the chair negative space sketch that I decided to draw another chair just to test my abilities. This sketch was easier, because the chair that I drew was a simple design with no openings within the chair. I liked doing this sketch, because I enjoy drawing in negative space.

Black Paper Sketch

Using black paper for a sketch was interesting. Usually when sketching I use a pencil or pen, but with this sketch I used colored pencils. I chose to sketch my pedestal that I have in my studio class. This was difficult, because it is just black and I did not know how to incorporate color into the pedestal. I chose colors that were bright and opposite of black.

Resume

The task of this project was to create a clean, organized, and business style resume. I have made resumes in the past and I thought they were good, but I was working with the wrong programs, not providing all the important details, and they were not up to date. During this project I developed the knowledge of how to create a perfect business resume that will attract attention, but also look professional at the same time. I working in In Design so I would be able to add or subtract information and detail. I was able to grow in regards to my In Design skills while working on this project.

Logo

This is the logo I created to represent myself as a designer. I used my initials A and M to represent my name. The design I picked was of a palm tree and a palm tree trunk. This logo required a steady hand and patients when working with the Wacom tablet and the Wacom pen. It was difficult to draw the palm tree and color it in correctly. This project taught me how to use illustrator, the Wacom tablet, and how to create my own label.

Fruit Still Life Sketch

This is a sketch that had you work on your shading. I really enjoyed doing this sketch, because I am not the best at shading. This is something I work on often, because I think when you have good shading your drawings look ten times better then a drawing with little or no shading.

Key Sketch

This was one of the first sketches we had to draw. The keys in the sketch are mine and we had to draw them using the outline of the keys first and then move into detail. This sketch taught me a lot about how to properly draw, especially when sketching.

Shade and Shadow of Room Corner Sketch

This sketch was one of my favorites. Although the sketch does not have a lot to it, I believe it relates more to interior design. The purpose of this sketch was to get you to draw an object in a corner from eye level. Most people when they draw do not do this, and I think it is important to learn during the interior design process.

Figure Tracing from Photo Sketch

When doing this sketch you were supposed to print out an image of a person that was moving. Once you had your image you needed to trace the person. I did not feel like I did very well on this sketch, because I only used one line weight. I think if I used multiple line weights in my sketch that it would be more interesting.

Figure Tracing from Figure Drawing Sketch

This sketch started off with tracing the people off one page onto another, that part was easy. The next step was to draw the same people, but in different sizes, and not tracing. Once I was able to get the lines of the people down the drawing became easier and the people began to look more uniform then messy.

Fruit Cross Section Sketch

This sketch was interesting to do. First we had to cut a fruit in half and then leave one whole. Next we had to set them up to be aesthetically pleasing. Once it was set up we had to draw the fruit with shading. This was a harder sketch, because I was unsure about how much detail to put into the fruit.
